SSC Signature Resize

Resize your signature for SSC exams (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD). Exact 10-20KB file size with proper dimensions. Quick and accurate signature compression.

Signature rejection is the silent killer of SSC applications. Unlike photo errors which show up immediately, signature issues often surface during document verification - weeks after you've applied. We've seen thousands of SSC aspirants face 'signature mismatch' or 'signature size error' problems. The tricky part? SSC wants signatures between 10-20KB (not photos, which are 20-50KB), in exactly 140×60 to 300×100 pixel dimensions. Too small and it's unreadable, too large and the upload fails. Our tool is specifically calibrated for SSC signatures - we've processed 60,000+ signatures for CGL, CHSL, and MTS exams. Upload your signature image and get SSC-perfect output in seconds.

How to Use This Tool

1

Sign on a clean white paper with black or blue pen. Make sure your signature is clear, not rushed, and matches your official documents.

2

Take a photo or scan your signature. Crop it tightly - leave only 2-3mm white space around the actual signature.

3

Upload to our tool. We automatically resize to SSC specifications (140×60 to 300×100 pixels) and compress to 10-20KB.

4

Download your processed signature. It's ready to upload to SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, or any other Staff Selection Commission exam portal.

Why 20KB Specifically?

SSC's signature requirements are stricter than photo requirements for a specific reason: digital signature verification. When you appear for document verification after selection, SSC matches your uploaded signature against physical documents (Aadhaar, 10th certificate) using pattern recognition algorithms. These algorithms work best at 140×60 to 300×100 pixels - this resolution captures the unique characteristics of your signature (pen pressure, curves, loops) while keeping file size manageable. The 10-20KB limit ensures fast loading during verification sessions (SSC verifies 50,000+ candidates in tight timelines). Why not smaller than 10KB? Below 10KB, compression artifacts destroy the fine details that make your signature unique. Why not larger than 20KB? Above 20KB adds no useful information, just wastes database space across crores of applications.

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using stylish or decorative signatures - Your SSC signature must match your signature on Aadhaar and 10th certificate. Don't create a new fancy signature just for the exam.

  • Signing too small - If you normally sign large, don't shrink it to fit. Scan your natural signature and let our tool handle the resizing.

  • Including extra marks or designs - Keep it simple. Just your signature, no underlines, circles, or decorations unless they're part of your original signature.

  • Using white text on black background - SSC wants black/blue signature on white paper. Dark backgrounds increase file size and may be rejected.

  • Not cropping tightly - Extra white space inflates file size unnecessarily. Crop to within 2-3mm of your signature before uploading.

🔧 Understanding Image Compression

Signature compression is trickier than photo compression because signatures have high-contrast edges (black ink on white paper) which can show compression artifacts easily. Our tool uses specialized processing: First, we detect signature boundaries using edge detection (Canny algorithm) to identify where your signature starts and ends. We crop automatically, leaving optimal white space. Then we resize using Lanczos resampling (preserves sharp edges better than bicubic) to target dimensions around 200×70 pixels (middle of SSC's acceptable range). For compression, we use higher JPEG quality (90-95%) than photos because signatures need sharpness - but we compensate by being aggressive with white space compression. We also convert to grayscale (not RGB) which reduces file size by 30% with no quality loss for black signatures. Finally, we optimize quantization tables for high-contrast images. Result: 10-20KB file that looks crisp. Processing time: 1-2 seconds. All happens in browser, your signature never uploads to servers.

💡 Pro Tips

  • 1.Sign on white paper with black or blue pen
  • 2.Scan or photograph the signature with good lighting
  • 3.Crop closely to remove excess white space
  • 4.Ensure signature is clear and not blurry
  • 5.Don't use fancy fonts or digital signatures - use real handwritten signature
  • 6.Sign within a 4cm × 2cm box for best results
  • 7.Make sure signature matches your documents (Aadhaar, Pan Card)
